Huntington Beach Units 3 & 4 out of Retirement

AES Huntington Beach Units 3 and 4 have been running since May 13, 2012.  They were dispatched (started) by the California System Operator (CAISO) to test the units to ensure their reliability.  The units will be dispatched from the CAISO whenever electricity demand increase.  As requested by the CAISO, we took our units of retirement to ensure Southern California has adequate electricity during the summer.  The California summer peak period for electricity generators is defined as May 1 through October 1.   To learn more, please visit www.caiso.com
